I've been a bad girl. When I began this blog, I was motivated and willing to post regularly but it's been a few months now without any sign of life from me. I want to say I'm sorry to those who have been following this site. I'll try my best to do better in the upcoming weeks, starting now.
I guess that talking and reading about gloves, boots, fur, leather and fashion in movies is always entertaining for fetishists and that's why I'm going to do it here within a serie of posts named Flick Fashion Overview. My first one will target the movie Yes Man with Jim Carrey. I saw this one last night and was in very good mood after it, not because of its comic content and Carrey's annoying funny faces, but because of the lovely Zooey Deschanel and the wardrobe they have created for her character. I've posted some pictures so you can also appreciate it.
Zooey's character, Allison, is an excentric, artistic girl who likes to live her life fully. She rides in Los Angeles on her scooter, going from one place to another, one moment doing gigs with her weird band the Munchausen By Proxy or the other giving photo courses to her group of joggers. In the first five photos posted, we see her arriving at a gas station on her ride, where she will meet Carl, Jim Carrey's character. The first thing we notice about her outfit is her cute brown leather boots ornated with a belt and buckle. Those are what is called wedge boots, with a thick sole and no distinctive heel. They may not be of the usual high heel style but still grab the attention, as well as what Allison is wearing on her hands to protect them from the cool air while she rides. Photos two and three show the girl removing her funny helmet and gives us the opportunity to take a closer look at her gloves: thick burgundy leather gloves with classic triple sewn lines on the back and belt/buckle at the wrist. Those lined gloves seems comfortable for the wearer, ideal for sports and outdoor activities, but still probably very soft to the touch. And at last, Allison's jacket, made of shiny black PVC and ornated with big round buttons. She simply looks yummy in it. Photos four and five show Zooey's long brown hair falling on her shoulders covered in shiny PVC and it is absolutely breathtaking to me. What a look.
Later in the movie, Allison is shown performing with her band. Her sexy moves and attitude will grab your attention as long as the boots she wears for that occasion. Unfortunately, no close shots of them were taken so I just posted here the two best images available. Light brown leather, knee high, thick heels and pirate-style with a leather flap at the top of the shaft wich can be worn folded as shown or unfolded to get an over-the-knee effect (too bad we don't see this). Those boots are a perfect match for her sand colored sleeveless light dress that covers her delicious and fragile body.
Next scene is the best part of the movie. After a boring geek party at Carl's friend, the couple escape into the night and break into the Hollywood Bowl for some alone time and a romantic moment. We again see Allison's brown wedge boots while she climbs a fence but more important is what she has on her hands this time. Photos eight, nine and ten will show you the details. Yes, you are seeing right: lovely deep brown mid-arm lenght leather gloves. My favorite color! Those seems so soft, so comfy, and a perfect choice to go along the boots and the PVC jacket. And on top of that, what's better in a movie than a kissing scene with a cute gloved Lady, involving good close shots of her gloved hands? Absolutely nothing.
The last scene of interest doesn't show any gloves but introduces to us another beautiful outfit mainly composed of a pretty deep blue coat with red stripes and shiny silver buttons. I noticed this coat because it is cute and also because it admirably shapes Zooey's body. To go with it, a pair of short black leather boots, again decorated with belts and buckles.
So, to end this post, I would definitely recommend you go rent this movie as soon as possible. Rent it in Blu-ray if you can to get the most out of the fashion scenes. If you can withstand Carrey's humor, you will get quite a treat watching the adorable and huggable Zooey Deschanel. Satisfaction guaranteed here.
